This January, The Grand Hotel & Spa, York’s only-five star hotel, is set to present ‘Ginuary’ - a whole month’s worth of fabulous cocktails celebrating and exploring the huge choice of gins now available, with a different cocktail creation for every day of January.
The Grand’s team of expert bar tenders have devised and perfected a calendar of cocktails, using different gins from Yorkshire, around the UK and across the world.
Upping the ‘gindulgence’ levels even further, there’s also the hard-to-resist temptation of combining two great British taste experiences - gin and the Grand’s renowned afternoon tea; the chance to mix gin-infused cakes with your choice of tea or a tipple is available throughout January.
If you’d like to get hands-on and learn to mix, shake and stir your own bespoke gin creations, the hotel’s Gin & Tonic Cocktail Kitchen is a chance for wannabe mixologists to get to grips with different gins and an array of accompaniments under the expert guidance of the Grand’s bar tenders.
Open to both non-residents and to guests staying at The Grand Hotel & Spa, ‘Ginuary’ promises to be filled with post-Christmas spirit. More information and the ‘Ginuary’ calendar can be found at www.thegrandyork.co.uk/ginuary
The Grand Hotel & Spa is part of the Splendid Hospitality Group.
Join the celebrations for the Grand Hotel & Spa's fifth anniversary on 7th May 2015. We opened our doors in May 2010 following the £25m refurbishment of the Grade II* listed former North Eastern Railway headquarters.
The Grand Hotel & Spa, York has submitted plans for an impressive £15 million, 2 year redevelopment that, if approved, will see the York venue double its number of guest rooms and allow it to compete at an international level.
In an emotionally charged finale of Channel 4’s, Kitchen Impossible with Michel Roux Jr, it was revealed that 17 year old Sam from York has joined the kitchen team at the Grand Hotel & Spa, the realisation of a long-standing dream.
