The Grand Hotel & Spa, York ends year on a culinary climax

The Grand Hotel & Spa York’s recently awarded three AA Rosette restaurant, Hudson’s, has reached the finals in the ‘Fine Dining’ category of the Food Porn Awards 2017 - a celebration of great looking food from the North's best restaurants, boutique pubs, cafe bars and eateries.

Craig Atchinson, Head Chef at The Grand Hotel & Spa, submitted his proudest dish, which was chosen by judges for a cook off in January 2017.

He said, “We are thrilled to be recognised for the high-quality presentation and attractive appearance of our food.  Fine dining is about more than just the taste of the food on your plate, it is about the whole sensual experience from sight to smell to texture, and this is something we keep in mind when preparing all of our dishes.”

Maria Florou, General Manager at The Grand Hotel & Spa comments: “Hudson’s serves delicious, classic dishes but with a touch of unique flair. It’s wonderful that the hard work and culinary talent of the Hudson’s team has been acknowledged. Its safe to say that we have finished the year on a climax!”

Craig will take part in a cook-off in January 2017, at the Food Porn Awards kitchen, where he will re-create his chosen dish.

Winners will be announced at the Food Porn Awards exhibition, held in March 2017 at the Northern Restaurant & Bar Show 2017.

Steeped in history and offering stunning views of York Minster and York’s city walls Hudson’s serves up an imaginative menu showcasing the best of the county using the finest local and seasonal produce.

Hudson’s will also be launching a seven course taster menu for two from January to March for £65.
