CREATING THOUGHTFUL FAMILY MOMENTS
Local’s York Recommendations for This Spring
Museum Gardens
A five-minute walk from The Grand, Museum Gardens is a central green space that comes into its own in spring. Cherry blossom surrounds the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey, daffodils line the lawns, and the River Ouse runs alongside. It’s a popular spot for locals to sit, read, or spend a relaxed afternoon outdoors.
Bishy Road
A short walk around the corner of The Grand, Bishy Road has a strong local feel, especially in spring. Independent shops, small galleries, and a steady flow of residents give it a neighbourhood energy that’s a contrast to the busier historic streets. Good for a wander without an agenda.
Treasurer’s House Garden
Often overlooked, but in spring the garden here is one of the best-kept in the city. Right by the Minster, but set back enough to feel separate. A good balance of central location and calm.
